Creative Fridays: a new ceramic ritual at Úrsula Cerâmica

In 2026, we are opening space for a new ceramic workshop in the studio at Úrsula Cerâmica in Lisbon.

Creative Fridays are a monthly moment to slow down, work with your hands and step out of the automatic pace of the week. A simple invitation: disconnect from the digital world, focus on the gesture and give time to creativity.

What are Creative Fridays?

Creative Fridays are monthly ceramic workshops, held on the last Friday of each month, from 4–6pm, designed as a special moment at the end of the working week.

They do not replace our regular workshops, they are a different format, more contemplative, more open and more connected to the idea of creative pause.

We believe that, at a time when many people work four days a week or keep Friday afternoons lighter, this is the right moment to create mental space, try something new and relax.

A schedule designed to slow down

The 4–6pm schedule is intentional.

It’s the moment when the week begins to soften, when the body is still present but the mind is already asking for a different rhythm. Creative Fridays were conceived as a transition ritual between work and the weekend.

No rush. No rigid goals.

Just time, clay and process.

January: New year, new hobby

The first Creative Friday takes place on January 30, with the theme:

New year, new hobby

A session designed for anyone who wants to start the year by trying something new, without pressure or expectations. No previous experience is required, just curiosity and the desire to create.

Throughout the year, each Creative Friday will have a different theme, announced month by month.

What to expect from a Creative Friday

• A calm and informal atmosphere • Hands-on ceramic work • Close guidance in the studio • Small group setting • Time to experiment, make mistakes and discover

The pieces created are part of the process, more important than the final result is the time dedicated to the gesture.

Creative Fridays reflect how we see ceramics: as an ongoing practice, an exercise in attention and a space for pause.
