Ceramic & Wine Workshops
On July 23rd, Úrsula Cerâmica opened the studio doors for a very special Open Day! Among the most anticipated moments were the Ceramic & Who’s Wine Workshops, two sold-out sessions that brought together clay, conversation, and carefully selected Portuguese wines.
Guided by Úrsula Duarte, ceramicist and founder of the studio, and the wine storyteller Mário Marques, each workshop invited participants to slow down and connect — with their hands, their senses, and each other.
Over the course of 2.5 hours, participants shaped two ceramic pieces designed for the wine ritual — such as wine cup holders, snack plates, or bottle coasters — while tasting a curated trio of wines from three wine distinct Portuguese regions: Lisboa, Bairrada, and Alentejo.
As the clay took form, glasses were poured and the group learned about the landscapes, grape varieties, and stories behind each wine — an informal and welcoming introduction to the diversity of Portugal’s wine world.
Whether it was someone’s first time touching clay or their first proper wine tasting, the energy was relaxed, curious, and full of laughter. By the end of each session, tables were covered in earthy textures, red wine stains, and shared stories — the perfect snapshot of a day we won’t forget.
A big thank you to Who’s Wine for curating and sponsoring the wines, and to the incredible producers who made it possible: Purista Wines, João Costeira Vinhos, and Mainova Alentejo.
